Life & Leadership Coaching

What is coaching

Why Coaching?

Coaching is a working relationship designed to help you think more clearly, act more intentionally, and move forward with confidence. Through a process of inquiry, reflection, and aligned action, we look at where you are, where you want to be, and what’s in the way — sometimes internally, sometimes structurally, often both.

According to the International Coaching Federation (ICF), coaching is a thought-provoking and creative partnership that inspires clients to maximize their personal and professional potential. That sounds lofty, but at its core, it means this: coaching is not about giving advice or fixing you. It’s about helping you uncover what you already know, strengthen your own decision-making, and create a version of success that actually feels like yours.

What happens in a coaching session?

Each session is shaped by the goals and structure we set during your intake — that initial conversation helps us get clear on what you’re working toward, how you learn, and what kind of support will actually help you follow through. From there, sessions are collaborative and focused, but never rigid. We start by checking in on your progress and identifying what you’d like to focus on that day. Then we dig in — exploring what’s getting in the way, clarifying what really matters, and landing on next steps that are meaningful and doable. Sometimes you leave with a decision or an action plan. Other times, it’s a shift in how you’re thinking or feeling about the situation — and that can be just as important.

Most sessions are 1-2 hours long, and we meet weekly, biweekly or monthly, depending on your goals.

How is coaching different from counselling or consulting?

Counselling often focuses on healing, past experiences, or mental health. Consulting typically delivers expertise, strategy, and solutions. Coaching sits somewhere in between — future-focused, action-oriented, but deeply personal. We’re not working on pathology or downloading a blueprint. We’re working on you — your clarity, your voice, your leadership, and your life.

What makes my coaching different?

My approach is rooted in professional experience, spiritual training, and a deep respect for complexity. I’ve led businesses, managed teams, sold a company, co-owned a yoga studio, and served on community boards. I’ve also spent over 20 years immersing myself in inner work — through meditation, nature-based practices, mentorship, and contemplative study. I bring all of that to our conversations.

I’ll ask the big questions. I’ll challenge you in a way that feels appropriate for you. I’ll listen closely to what you say — and to what you don’t. I’ll hold space for our sessions with equal parts structure and humanity.

What can I expect from the process?

If you’re interested in working together, the first step is to reach out and book a no-charge chat — just to ask questions, get a feel for each other, and see if coaching feels like the right fit for where you’re at. If we decide to move forward, our first session is a one-hour intake where I get to know more about you, your goals, how you learn, and how I can best support you. After that, I’ll send you a proposal outlining what I heard, the focus areas we’d work on, and a suggested structure — including the number of sessions and the pace (weekly, biweekly, monthly). If it all feels good, I’ll send over a simple contract, and we get started from there.
